Jane has lived with her family in Litchfield, CT, since 1982. In those 40 years, she has come to know the NW CT region with all its stunning beauty, charm, and character. This corner of the world beckoned after a successful career in merchandising for R.H. Macy in New York. Merchandising and staging retail products were an integral part of her responsibility. Jane and her husband Paul, who is an architect, have lovingly restored their 18th c. home. Jane has been a real estate salesperson for over 15 years and joined forces with Sotheby’s in 2018.

As a full-time agent, putting together the necessary information for selling and buying a home is tantamount to a successful sale. Jane works well with her colleagues and the Sotheby world-class team that assists her in delivering a successful transaction. It is with that passion obtained from her merchandising career that she is able to assist her sellers in preparing their homes for the market with the appropriate staging and marketing strategies. She is able to guide her Buyers to focus on the right property, and, if needed, help them prioritize potential projects and offer design ideas. Jane believes in service to her clients before, during, and after the transaction. She prides herself in being able to listen to her clients while remaining calm and patient throughout the process. Doing the common things uncommonly well is her mantra.

Giving back to the community is important. Over her 40 years in the community, Jane has served on many area non-profit boards.

She currently serves as Vice Chairman for the Northwest Community Bank and is a founding member of the Northwest Community Foundation; Inc. She has served as past President of the Litchfield Historical Society and the Litchfield Garden Club.

If you are looking to buy or sell a home in NW CT, and need a dedicated and diligent agent, Jane would be happy to assist you.

Jane Hinkle has handled my real estate transactions several times. She has a way of making the process effortless, handling all details and communication flawlessly. She has been a delight to work with in all dealings. It has been a pleasure. Thank you Jane and William Pitt! You are my team!

Adrienne Cavarly

Jane Hinkel was terrific in every respect both before and after the sale. We recommend her highly.

William & Carol Jones

Jane and Paula were wonderful realtors to work with. They showed up to every showing enthusiastic and happy to answer any questions. They were professional and easy to work with and made the selling process seamless. They were supportive throughout the entire process. We would highly recommend both of them to anyone looking to sell their home.

I am particular, but in a positive, functional way, (I think). When I was looking for a piece of land to build my dream home, I had such a large list of requirements I did not think any realtor would want to willingly work with me. Jane took on the challenge with such alacrity and enthusiasm it was impressive. I had to come out from western Canada each time I looked but she had 10-15 listings reading to show me. Time after time something was wrong with each in my mind, but she did her homework and finally figured out exactly what my needs were. She not only helped me find the perfect place but assisted in the bargaining, (seller would not budge on price), and Jane helped me see the clarity I could not find. When the seller was non responsive, Jane's patient demeanour helped me along to find an equalibrium. She is beyond a doubt, a diligent, attentive, hard worker and someone who listens to her buyer's (or seller's) needs. I highly recommend her in every capacity!

John and Aaron

We worked with Jane to sell our 5,000+ square foot house. From the first discussion to the closing, Jane could not have been more helpful. She helped with staging the house to make it more presentable, offered suggestions throughout, and helped us navigate the intricacies of the sale and closing. The whole process went remarkably smoothly, and we credit Jane with that. We would work with her again in an instant!

Jane is a thorough and seasoned real estate professional in addition to being a very caring and thoughtful person who listens carefully to her clients concerns and needs. She explains and assists with the arduous tasks involved with buying and selling real estate in today's rapidly changing market. Jane helped me enormously throughout my real estate transactions this year. I would recommend Jane Hinkel to anyone! She is 5 Stars!

Marie McFadden

Jane is professional, very competent, pays attention to detail, keeps good current notes and shares relevant information with her clients. I had complete confidence in Jane throughout the selling process. She worked hard to keep both buyer and seller focused on our common goal - and encouraged compromise and good will among the parties. I am a widow in my 80's and this is the first time I have handled a transaction of this magnitude without my husband. I will always be very grateful to Jane for her patience and guidance. James & Alessandra Harrod

Jane did a very fine job selling my house and finding me a new home. It was a wild and crazy two months but everything worked out very well in the end. She was able to read me well and calm me down when needed and kept encouraging me through this whole process. I did it as a widow and she was my best cheerleader. Many thanks!
