Review by S. M. 3/7/2025 I recently worked with Lauren Kraus to purchase my first apartment in New York while living in another state, and I couldn’t have navigated the process without her expertise. With a time difference, it was not uncommon for me to have questions later in the evenings after work, sometimes even at midnight in New York. Irrespective of what time it was, Lauren was always quick to respond with prompt and clear answers without delay. Being a new buyer, I was baffled by the whole experience, particularly with the legal and procedural aspects. The real estate rules in New York were different from those in my home state, and with so much paperwork to sign, it was daunting. Lauren’s in-depth knowledge of the rules and fastidiousness with details kept me from making costly blunders. Not only did she explain the differences in a simple and easy-to-understand manner, but she also guided me through each step, whether by telephone, text, or email. Perhaps one of the best aspects of working with Lauren was her hands-on approach. Instead of making me search around for different professionals, she took it upon herself to call attorneys, notaries, inspectors, and other key players to keep everything moving in the right direction. If a form needed to be signed, she didn’t just tell me where to get it, she walked me through my options, explained what each one meant, and ensured I was comfortable making informed decisions. Another plus was her accuracy with finances. I was concerned about miscalculating and making a mistake, but Lauren double-checked all figures and presented everything clearly so I could review and confirm each step. Her diligence gave me confidence that nothing was being overlooked. Beyond logistics, Lauren paid close attention to my specific needs and preferences when searching for properties. She didn’t just forward generic listings; every option she presented was carefully selected based on my priorities. Scheduling viewings was seamless, and everything was coordinated smoothly. Even after I returned to my home state, I found myself second-guessing details about the apartment, like its dimensions, electrical capacity, and water and gas systems. Lauren personally revisited the unit to measure and verify everything, even taking photos and videos to put my mind at ease. If she wasn’t available, she made sure her assistant was there to help. She also helped me prepare for closing, taking the time to review each step again so I would be completely ready. What impressed me most was how she went above and beyond her responsibilities. Knowing I was relocating, she introduced me to practical resources to make my transition to New York easier, something she wasn’t required to do but did anyway. Even after closing, she followed up to make sure I was settled and happy with my decision. Before Lauren, I had worked with three other agents, and none provided the same level of involvement, clarity, and proactive support that she did. Her ability to anticipate problems and solve them efficiently made all the difference.
