Christian has a great understanding of the real estate market and all aspects of buying and selling homes in the Berkshires. I have bought and sold several homes in MA, CT and FL over the past 35 years and I rarely came into contact with such a detailed and conscientious Realtor who takes a lot of the guess work out of the game. We met Christian on a Christmas Eve traveling up from Litchfield Co. CT where we had recently sold a house. We were doing a 1031 so time was of the essence. We could not find anything in CT that was to our liking so we decided to extend our area of concentration. We came back up the day after Christmas and we didn't see anything that we liked. So, Christian practically pulled a great house out of his sleeve. The perfect house he found was not even on the market. Christian talked to several friends about our housing needs and his good friend, Frank, had been working in a house that had been on the market previously (it’s the country.) It was the perfect storybook antique house with 3 floors, gorgeous mature landscaping and a large enclosed square vegetable garden made of cedar wood. In the center was a beautiful, ancient apple tree. The stocked green river formed part of the boundaries. Christian did everything with finesse and experience. We all learned a lot from each other. We did renovations to much of the house and added a beautiful pool and additional landscaping. When we decided to sell the house, there was only one name to call, Christian Deckert. We actually spoke with him often about possibly selling the house as it was too large with seven bedrooms and 3 floors for two people coming up part time. As we wanted to do a tax deferment again, we were out of time when we found this house. Christian handled the sale as expertly as he handled the buying process. We spent months looking in Connecticut and Massachusetts and went into contract on one in Sharon, CT that we got all the way to almost closing on the house, when the elderly lady said no at the last minute and amazingly the same thing happened in Milton, CT where the sellers suddenly got a great offer on their apartment in NY and decided to cancel this deal. Both we had flown up for several times, both we hired real estate attorneys for contracts and paid for inspections, mortgage applications, etc. So wounded from the whole process and losing our tax deferments, we came back up to the Berkshires and Christian. He found us a nice house in Stockbridge. It had a lot of nice features but we weren’t happy with the way renovations were going and it was getting to be too much with the extensive gardens, so Christian came in and found a great buyer for the house very quickly. He handled everything with precision and a smile. We are now in Provincetown and are getting that itch. The house is being shown to select buyers by the realtors out there. It is too far from the Berkshires but Christian has helped us with some very beautiful pictures of the house that he took while staying there for a week with his family. We may end up back in the Berkshires, in a big part because Christian and Elle have become great friends. He has done everything with professionalism, honesty and ethics. We have bought and sold 7 homes in Miami and 5 houses in New England and Christian has been the top Realtor for us.

He had excellent knowledge of the area and the pricing for homes. His negotiating suggestions were very helpful in both the sale and purchase process. Phone messages and e-mails were responded to very quickly throughout the day (we were on a very compressed time schedule).
