She also developed a notable garden on the property and is responsible for restoring the original Sharpstone Farm, formerly a working dairy farm, from a parcel of 28 acres to its present 150 acres. Heather is a member of The Garden Conservancy of America, and The Aldo Leopold Society, which is associated with the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, New York. She supports Innisfree Gardens in Millbrook in addition to other Hudson Valley organizations connected with conservation and general protection of open space and healthy living. In addition to architecture and gardens, her other interests include music, opera and the arts in the local area.
