With more than 30 years as an award-winning TV reporter and news anchor, Janet Peckinpaugh has built her career on communication, trust, and a genuine love of helping people—qualities she now brings to every real estate client she serves. With more than 30 years as an award-winning TV reporter and news anchor, Janet Peckinpaugh has built her career on communication, trust, and a genuine love of helping people—qualities she now brings to every real estate client she serves. When she retired from NBC-CT in 2007, Janet launched a P.R. and marketing firm, but soon realized she missed the personal connection she had enjoyed in television. Real estate, a field she’d been exposed to since childhood through her parents’ investments, was a natural next step.
Janet’s professional life has taken her across the country and into the center of national events. After graduating from Indiana University, she became a flight attendant and then a marketing representative for National Airlines. She later moved to Washington, D.C. to serve as an aide to a U.S. Senator from Florida and completed internships with NBC at the White House and with the DNC’s radio department. Those opportunities opened the door to a long and successful career in television news, leading her from Richmond, VA, to Connecticut, where she anchored at WTNH-TV, WFSB-TV, and NBC-CT.
Community involvement has always been important to Janet. After many years in Essex, she moved to Madison and continues to serve the region in multiple ways. She spent more than seven years as Chair of the Essex Economic Development Commission, served on the Board of Governors at the Essex Yacht Club, and currently serves as a Commissioner on Madison’s Planning and Zoning Commission. Throughout her many years in Connecticut, she has been an active supporter of charitable organizations. In keeping with her belief in giving back, she donates a portion of every real estate transaction to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, which provides healing and joy to seriously ill children and their families.
Janet’s favorite moments are the ones spent with her son, Alex, his wife, Valeska, and their daughters, Masha and Alma.
