We began looking in November of 2019 for a rental home with the intention of getting to know the Westport area and then potentially purchasing a home. We did not know one person in Westport and had no knowledge of the neighborhoods or market outside of our own limited research. This past year we had the pleasure of working with Laura Fitzpatrick on several real estate transactions; the sale of our house in Darien, the acquisition of a short term rental and the purchase of a home in Weston CT. Our process began in March with Laura visiting our home and making suggestions as to how best prepare the home for market, a delicate task as we had been in the house for 24 years. We all "got to work" and the house was ready at the end of May. Laura was present at every house showing which we do not believe is always the case. Our house had challenges as we were situated next to the Metro North Line. Laura prevailed and we received an offer, which we balked at, in August.
