"It's all about pricing." That's what LJ Wilks said when we sat down to discuss selling our home in Westport. We had just come off the experience of selling our second home in Fairfield with a different broker and had gone through the horrific experience of starting too high, then watching the devastating downward slide of the dollars until we finally gave the house away, despite the market recovery and various other factors that should have gotten us a better return. I nodded at LJ, and after they ran down a list of comps, on paper in front of me, but very much sailing right off her well-informed tongue, we agreed on an asking price. That price was so perfectly placed; we ended up with five offers topping it -- yes, a bidding war --in January! We sold our house in a week. Not only was all of her advice spot on in terms of staging the house, she was actually willing to come and physically help me stage it. At all times she was professional, warm, realistic, and extremely helpful with every step of the sale process, including going to Town Hall for us to resolve issues with the building department. If that wasn't enough, she did a thorough search of rentals available to us in surrounding areas and did everything she could to help us find a new home, even referring us to brokers in the state where we ended up moving. I cannot recommend her highly enough. This lady does know her business and will go way above and beyond to make your deal happen.

If you are looking for an amazing realtor, then LJ is your gal! She is funny and honest and goes above and beyond to make sure that your house is ready to sell and well positioned in the market. LJ met with my husband & I six months before we even went on the market. She went over the comps in our area, her assessment of the market overall and what she thought our house was worth. She gave us some tips/ideas on how to better position out house and we spent those following six months getting ready to go on the market. It's not easy - clean, update, declutter, paint, yard work, etc... - but guess what - we had a verbal offer within 4-5 days! During those prep months, LJ and her colleague came over and helped me "stage" the house. They wrapped books, brought flowers, brought their own knick-knacks, rolled towels, ironed sheets/pillow cases and walked every room to make sure that it was in pristine order for pictures and showings - they worked for us and our hard work paid off with a quick offer! But, not only is LJ a hard worker, but she is super funny and down to earth - so, you will have an honestly good time viewing homes or selling your home with her - and "honest" is a key word - she told us what we needed to hear, not what we wanted to hear.
