Working with Mary Ellen on the sale of our home far exceeded any experience or expectations we had ever had with a Realtor. Emptying and preparing our home of almost three decades for sale was a daunting task, but Mary Ellen was available to assist with all the various needs involved in prepping and selling the house. My family and I would like to take this opportunity to express our deep gratitude to Mary Ellen Barnett. My parents lived in this home for 59 years, the only home they ever owned. The task to ready 19 Valley View Road, Brookfield, CT was not an easy one. Both parents were "collectors" aka pack rats and every inch attic to basement was filled floor to ceiling. With limited time ( as in NO time for garage/estate sales) and as my brother aren't local, the vast majority of sorting, packing and removing was left to me. From the time we met Mary Ellen, even though we knew this was an overwhelming task, she made us feel comfortable and reassured us it was still doable. From day one she offered to make runs to Goodwill, recycling; made arrangements for a flea market guy to come and take whatever he thought he could sell (he keeps the money but took 3 truck loads/with a trailer which would have ended up in a dumpster). She helped with an electronics recycling guy (my father's a retired engineer) to get what he could legally remove from the basement and my dad's office out of the house (I lost count after 4 truck loads). Mary Ellen recommended an excellent source for packing my pod and for the final clean out of the house (he had to bring a second dumpster and large U-haul truck), enlisted her son and some of his friends to help with filling the first dumpster. Mary Ellen recommended an excellent source for landscaping and mowing until the house sold as well as an excellent cleaning company all of which were very reasonably priced and understood the urgency to get their job done. Mary Ellen went so far above board, even Matt the Moving Guy said he's worked with her and she's one in a million; most realtors won't do what she does to help get the job done. She's not afraid of manual labor, thoroughly enjoys chucking stuff into a dumpster, being hands on, and all while smiling and getting a great workout. My three brothers have worked with Realtors in the past and were blown away by the amount of work she did to ready the house for market. Adele, you hit Gold!
