I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for the work that William Morrow did in helping me sell my house. I had started off with a different realtor, and though he seemed very nice, he did not listen to my concerns or my priorities, and this caused me significant financial hardship and emotional distress. He was a very experienced older realtor who showed me several awards that he had won, and talked himself up quite a bit, so I figured he knew what he was talking about and I trusted him. The prior realtor orchestrated a sale last September that he insisted was a done deal and that I had nothing to worry about, so I went ahead and purchased a new home 500 miles away. I did not think It was a good idea to inspect the home I was selling on the day that we were packing up and moving, when the entire house would be torn apart and in disarray. I had great reservations about this, that I expressed repeatedly to the prior realtor, but he insisted everything was fine, there was nothing to worry about, and refused to reschedule the inspection. So the next day when we were pulling into the new house in Virginia in a U-Haul with all of our worldly possessions, I got the call that the buyer’s wife, who had not seen the property previously, was appalled at the state of the house, called it a “dump”, and they rescinded their offer. The deal was off. I could not stop crying and having anxiety attacks for weeks. I had to scramble to find an additional job to pay 2 mortgages, and figure out how to maintain a vacant house from 500 miles away. The last 9 months have been more stressful than I could have ever imagined. I requested to transfer to a different realtor and was matched with William Morrow. Mr. Morrow took the time to understand not only my financial pressures but also the story of our family and how this had impacted us; how important it was for us to make a sale not only for the money issues but also the toll that the emotional stress of this ordeal was taking on our entire family. Mr. Morrow was patient, understanding, inquisitive and a creative thinker. I felt that not only was I in good hands with someone who was experienced and knew what they were doing, but also someone who truly cared about resolving this problem, not just making the biggest commission that they could get. He called in all of his favors, cancelled plans when the buyers were inflexible, one day he even drove directly from a medical appointment to a showing to make sure that we didn't lose any opportunity even though he was not physically well. I cannot fault his work ethic or dedication one bit. We made a decision to offer the home at a significantly reduced price because expediency at this point was critical. We had many different issues with smoke detector certificates, woodstove permits, a failed title 5, and the buyer insisting on different discounts and concessions. Mr. Morrow helped me to understand my options at every step and was very proactive in setting boundaries and defending my interests with the buyer's realtor. We were able to close last Friday and I feel like a boulder has been lifted off of my chest. I am so grateful to Mr. Morrow for all of the incredibly hard work he did not only to make this sale happen but the many, many times he talked me off the ledge when my stress and anxiety got the better of me. He was a pleasure to work with and he has definitely earned my respect and trust. We now can move forward in our lives without the weight of this property holding us back and being a constant source of worry and stress. I was thinking recently there should be "Super Realtor" designation because Bill Morrow is it. Bill started working with me to help on a lake house that ultimatley fell through due to inspection issues. But, even that experience is a testament to Bill's unwavering commitment serving the best interests of his client. Bill was on top of each step of the process, often reminding and prodding me at the right points about the right things to do at the right times. His perpective of the housing market and the Berkshire region specifically is so informative and insightful for any outsider wanting the "inside" view.
