Alan joined our Brokerage upon purchasing a lakefront property in Sherman CT. He specializes in waterfront properties representing sellers & buyers, with his first-hand experience. As NYC dwellers both he and his Parisienne Wife were drawn to the natural beauty & tranquility of Northwestern CT to enjoy their love of water sports on Candlewood Lake. He is active locally; supporting small businesses; a member of New Milford Board of Realtors® and the Elected President of Candlewood Echoes Tax District.

EXPERIENCE (ATTORNEY & REALTOR)

Alan has spent two decades in the Real Estate sector (as a Lawyer or Real Estate Broker) successfully completing multi-faceted transactions, identifying planning issues, realizing development potential and solving complex disputes. No property is too complicated for him to handle! He has a proven track record in maximizing the value of his discerning clients’ real estate portfolios. 

On a personal level, he has been a buyer, seller, investor, landlord, tenant and developer in England, France and the United States. This combination of practical, detailed knowledge and legal acumen is a powerful force when negotiating on behalf of his clients. Alan’s firm, intuitive advice is delivered in a positive and reassuring manner, which has led to repeat business and satisfied clients.

BACKGROUND

In 2006 he founded a law firm in London and has many interesting tales to tell about managing a start-up; surviving the financial downturn of 2008 and growing the business to a team of 40+ lawyers. He sits on the non-executive board of several companies in London and Frankfurt, including some publicly listed. His connections are unparalleled through his membership of various Irish/British/American business & networking organizations and he served as a committee member of the American Bar Association’s International section.

Alan was honored to be admitted as a Freeman of the city of London in 2016. Socially, he is a proud member of the Royal Enclosure at Ascot Racecourse in England and the Lansdowne Club in London, which has reciprocity with the Ivy League clubs in NY and CT.

EDUCATION

A University of Law (London) graduate, Alan’s academic achievements also include a Master of Law post-graduate degree awarded by Queen’s University Belfast. He graduated from University College Dublin in 1999 with a Bachelor of Law degree.

Licensed in Connecticut and in New York, where he is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York. He is also a member of the National Association of Realtors®.
